Hello all, I have an issue that I know someone ran accross before.. I have a 97 civic HX manual, with a D16Y5. I am trying to swap in a B18B JDM motor but I am having problems with the wiring harness. I just bought a harness from a 99 civic LX, but that isnt pluging onto my P75 OBD2 ECU, only the Original harness is, so What I need to know is, what went wong? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated..

Thanx in advance

You need the harness from the motor you are swapping in.

That's incorrect. The '96-'00 Civic came with a 1-piece harness, where the Integras have a 2-piece harness (engine to connectors at shock tower and then those connectors to the ECU/underdash connectors). So an Integra harness wouldn't work.

The ECU (and engine) is likely from a '96-'99 Integra, which means it's OBD2A. Where '96-'98 Civics are OBD2A and the '99-'00 Civics are OBD2B. That 1 year overlap between the 2 different cars is what the difference is.
