Help with an academic paper please

Hi all,
First post on this forum -- ever. :) I am in need of some help; I am writing an academic paper on the development and portability of technology. The example I want to use is with Heads Up Displays (HUDs). I know HUDs were first in military jets (the first was the Buccaneer I believe) but the next thing that made use of them were race cars. Can someone tell me the VERY FIRST race car to use a HUD please? The sticky part is that no matter what information you give me, you MUST provide a source for that information -- just saying "I know it." is NOT good enough. Any reputable magazine should do -- Car and Driver, Road and Track, whichever, but no, "Joe's Mimeographed Magazine of Race Cars!", ok? hehe While there isn't any cash to come of this, the person WILL receive credit in an academic paper that will probably end up getting published in some obscure educational technology journal. Thank you in advance!

well for some odd reason i thought it was the 88 oldsmobile cutlass supreme. thats why they were so hard to find by me, as people wanted them since they were cheap for beaters and had that.

progressive states that gm was the first in 1988....

Dunno, if any "race" cars use it. I know there are plenty of street cars that do.
