Hey, i've been lookin' at some stuff on ebay and i keep running into these "Performance Chips" that promise to add between 5 - 20 hp. They claim they're safe etc. I was just wondering if these things are legit. Are they really safe and do they really add the hp they say they do?
Thanks

i dont think that anyone has broken code for altima yet. Even if they do most likely they will need to reprogram the ecu

the performance chips they are talking about are a waist of money to buy on ebay! they work but all it is is a resistor that u can buy from radio shack for $ 0.99 ! i'll tell u it is a 4700 ohm resistor that u plug into your A.I.T. sensor outlet. basically it tells your ecu that you are getting cold air so your ecu readjust the fuel/air ratio, thus giving you added hp.

Those chips are junk, if you want the BEST chip just get the reprogrammed ECU from Jim Wolf Technology.
