here is the deal car was sitting for a month and needed a boost! i bosted it, ran good for 15 min! i shut it off to see if it would start and it didn't! so i changed the battery. i removed the intake tube to get axces to the terminals. the air temp sensor managed to come out while doing so! i put everthing back and the car starts but does not idle! i tired many times but no luck! i am pretty sure something else must be unplugged! what can it be?:banghead: sorry for the long post but its exactly what happened!!!

If this is a 3400 motor, Check the wires and the plug going to the IAC motor on the throttle body.

On the throttle body. You may have to remove the intake ducktwork again to gain access to it.

yes it's probably a wire running down steering colum they make wire so little it will break or could be the whole ignition cylender.

No you just need to do a security re-learn. I am not sure how to do it on the alero, but if its the same as the grand prix, turn the key to on not start, leave it sit for a half hour, turn it off, and back on, let it sit again for a half hour, and one more time off, and back on for a half hour. After that dont turn off, just turn to start. This may not work for alero though.
Do you have a different key you can try?

Is the security light lit on the dash when you start the car?
