2000 malibu 3.1

I have a problem with lights burning out.(black like over volt)
The latest happened when accelerating from 50 to 70 mph.
The dash brake light came on then one of the rear brake lights blew.

Brakes were not touched they just came on and the rear light blew.

Possible problems:
1. Do you by chance have a trailer wiring hook up?
2. May be a rear light circuitry - I've had to purchase a new tail light assembly once because of a situation similar to what you describe.
