Say something GOOD

Okay, not meant to embarass anyone, but since so many people are really having tough times getting through life lately, I decided to put up a thread about things that DO go right or have something good come out of them.

See, most people today live by what I call a "90-10" complex. Basically, out of 100%, today's society will focus on the 10% of things that go wrong as opposed to the overwhelming majority of 90% that go according to plan or even better. For example, if I did 10 things today, I'd gripe about the one thing that I didn't do right instead of glow about the 9 things that went just as I had intended... Get it?

When I was living w/extended family, one cousin decided to start a trend of getting a couple of us together every night before bed to say atleast one thing that went right that day. And know what? It helped. It let me see that even though I was having troubles, I had a whole bunch of things that were on-track. :)

I'll start this in here:

Today, I completed 2 full Calculus homework assignments and I got to go car shopping with my family to help them find something for them :flash:

I, together with 2 new friends from college, started and completed a 10 page marketing project tonight, then we went out to Taco Bell. Not only did I get my project done, I made 2 new friends :D:D

I got the TV in the living room to work. :D

Good, keep those postivities coming!!

I stayed awake during Sociology today.

I made a list last night of all the things i had to do today around the house etc....i got all 11 things done in plenty of time and everything went sweet.

Very happy camper today

My postive? I drove 25kms to take some things to my Old man that he left at home, then went an bought 6l of Ornange chocloate swirl icecream, and 3 secong hand books, by Rober Hienlin and Isac Asminov. :sun:
Then BANNED SOMEONE BAD! and had a good positive 1-1/2 hour long converation with thier brother on AIM. :cool:

Yep.......that about sums my day up.....LOL

I think i've slipped a few more beers in along the way :p :p

Went to work, dont sound positive but since it was 8 extra hours its all good, ive picked up about 45 extra hours over the next 2 weeks, so thatll help my bank balance and move me closer to getting a del sol

I got a 96 on a test in my AP BC Calculus test and a 100 in my AP C Physics test yesterday. That was cool. Definitely wasn't expecting that. My Integra model is also coming along rather nicely. And when I cut myself last night I didn't die of blood loss. :cool:

P.S. saturntangerine, I like that 90/10 complex theory. Of course they're are lots of exceptions, but every rule has those. Keep it up!

My shipment of cars is being sent today, and in 2 weeks I get my wall unit to display my cars.:D

I got 83% on my VB Test (Which is quite good for me)

Also got 91% on my physics test (I couldnt believe my eyes :D )

I also bought one of those surround sound reciever thingys that was a display unit (got it cheap :) ) and hooked it up to my tv, cd player, and my Dreamcast runs through it, and it sounds AWESOME!
And got hooked up with a good deal on some speakers

So far it has been a decent week. I had Monday off from work...I got caught up on a bunch of stuff around the house that needed to be done, did some shopping, got my nails done, got my oil changed (see thread on men vs. womens oil changes :p)

To top it all off it was rainy and cool outside....something we long for in Arizona...so I had all the doors and windows open....and my doggies enjoyed it too.

The rest of this week I am stuck answering our phones at the office which sucks but it gives me a chance to catch up on my homework.....now if I can rip myself away from the forum for a bit......ARRGHHHH...ok I am addicted to nevermind on the homework hehe.

I think that a lot of good things have happened to me recently. Well, take today for example. I let myself sleep through my alarm. :D The glory of rebelling.

The weather has been beautiful. Classes have been going well (relatively speaking of course). I'm still alive..that's always a good thing. I get woken up almost every night by a phone call from someone who can almost always leave me with a smile as I drift off to sleep. ;)

My fish haven't committed suicide. I'm going home for Thanksgiving! Once again...a little bit of rebellion is involved.

Of course the list could be much longer, but I guess that I would have to say that the good far outweighs the bad. And when bad times come along, I'm lucky enough to have someone who will reassure me that things will be alright. I guess that's another good thing..having that someone in my life.

Well...I'm off to a wonderful hot shower so that I can make an appointment on time. I think this is going to be a good day. :)

One thing I did right today?

I timed my arrival at work today perfectly - I didn't have to see my boss, and got to start work without having her yell at me for whatever I may or may not have done perfectly the day before.

So, I managed to put off some stress I would have had to deal with today until tomorrow :).

BTW - can you tell that I had a shitty day?

Only 10 more months, and I'm DONE!

Today i got a flat tyre and got it fixed for free

I was about to get a Supra with only 16k miles for 25grand from a Benz dealership today and I got screwed cause someone bought it last night. I'm so happy!!!

My good thing for today was that I got to help a friend decide what kind of figure skates she's going to buy! :)

I kicked ass in my Japanese exam today... I hope...

I got 103% in my Astronomy.
My GPA was a 3.9
I actually make out with a girl regularly :D
and life is just generally good, although i need other people to make me feel good, cause i get depressed or jealous easily, i'm such a chick!

I made about 400 dollars today! Actually, I do that about every day, but its a good feeling anyway.

I started my job hunt for something during the off-season when I'm not at the golf course! :D

Today is my Friday
All my children are physically healthy (the mental part, the jury is still out on)
my wife has not yelled at me yet today :D :D (probably because I haven't been home to screw anything up)

I haven't started a big project i had for entrepreneurial studies which was due yesterday... I skipped school yesterday, didn't get in trouble for it... didn't have the class today and I'm starting my project now, to hand in tomorrow

things are going perfectly :devil:

then again, i'll probably get lazy, turn on the TV and wake up tomorrow to find my project only 1/2 done

like how the hell do you get 103?? that's more than perfect, it's impossible. No teacher in my school would even give over like 95%

and where do you find all the time to do all your work?

Some Professors give out bonus marks on tests and assignments and such. And you can always find time to do the work, you just have to not procrastinate, and even tho the work sux, u just have to bear down and do it

yeah but how do you get perfect on everything.. including bonus stuff??
My teachers are like against giving a perfect mark on anything... i gotta go to an easier marking school

I was just using that as an example, I dont really know how ppl get perfect on everything, cause even if I knew all the answers on a test or sumthing, id probably still forget one, or make some sort of cheap error.

When I get perfect on something, it is usuially cause I soo worked my ass-off on something and checked it over like 80 times, otherwise its usuially a fluke. i have only once ever got more than perfect on something, whereas I have a friend who had a chemistry teacher in highschool that gave out soo many bonus assignments, that on his report card it said 118% :eek: Like i said tho, im not that smart, so perfect marks on anything is rare for me.

I have another good thing from today: I went to see the CCAC (my college) play. It wasn't that bad!!! :)

Finished my VB assignment for Programming Class. It actually works, and does not crash :)

Now that I got that thing off my back, I can relax :D

I just got back from a compositional recital, where my friend and I got in trouble for 'rustling' papers. Well, excuse me for multi-tasking while trying to become cultured. :) So, why is this a good thing? Because I pissed off an adjunct and that makes me very happy. :devil:

I'm hoping to get that up a lot by the end of the semester physics is pissing me off, cause I like it, but I'm doing horrible (Sorry G$ but I set high standards so a 72 is like a fail for me) Twist, I may need you for some phyics assistacne, you any good at waves and sound? I'd like to get that mark up to a 92 by the end of the year.
