Better engine in 95 Trooper?

Hi,
I am new to this site. I have a 1995 Trooper 3.2L engine, manual tran, and I am thinking about towing a travel trailer. Is there anyone here that has put a larger engine in the 95 Trooper? Along with this thought... using an engine that doesn't have an oil consumption issue?
