Tranny fluid low? Has it been leaking at all lately?

Sometimes if you are 4 quarts low you get a false-positive reading on the dipstick; coincidentally, you won't be moving if you're 4 quarts low... You can try adding at least one; overfilling is not going to hurt anything... It just may overflow a little from the vent...

Any whining sounds?

I'd think that if you were just driving and it quit moving, you'd be wise enough to notice a huge amount of trans fluid leaking out of the trans.

we need to do some troubleshooting: when it is cold, start van and see if there is any attempt for it to move. if no, chances are that either the valve body pressure control valve is stuck open (rare), the pump has failed (rare) the transmission planetary gear set has broken (very common).
