Most decals are user friendly if applied with the standard techniques. Do not soak decals too long in water to remove them from the backing paper. I find that soaking them in a dish of water for about 20-30 seconds sufficient - then remove the decal/backing paper from the dish and let the decals sit for about a minute out of the water before trying to remove the backing paper by sliding the decals off with a pair of tweezers. If the decals is still attached to the backing paper just put a few drops of water on the decal and let it do the work - take care not to tear the decal when sliding off the backing paper. Once the decal is off the backing paper place it on the model and using a cotton swab smooth out the decal and remove any water left behind. If the decal is not setting down snug on the model the apply a little micro-sol with a small paint brush and then leave it alone - let the micro-sol do the work to snuggle down the decal. If you try to smooth or move the decal once the micro-sol has softened the decal you will damage the decal. Work slow and take your time and everything will go just fine. For decals that are not on curved surfaces or that snuggle down you do not have to apply micro-sol. hope this helps a little with your build- John

thanks John, I've decaled rally cars and tuner cars before so i know roughly how to get a good look. And i HATE it when the decal tears, so annoying :P The wheels and side vents are now painted so ill get pics of them up in a few minutes, and just waiting for the tank and rear fairing to dry before i add putty to smooth out the join line :)

Not much of an Update just the paint on the wheels and side ventings, un-cleared and un-polished obviously  Had a huge mishap with the tank and rear fairing, sanded down the putty and sprayed, then my dog decided she liked the smell of it and licked it :banghead: I should explian that i have painted models on the ground with 4 fans blowing away from it (so it blows the dust away and sucks in dust that has got past :naughty:)
Small print, fans arent dog proof :nono:

very cool! I did this kit a while ago, but I opted for the flat black and red livery. The decals are awesome to work with. I will have to try to find some pics and post them to give you some inspriation!

Here are the cowlings with decals applied. They are metalic black with a dull coat over them.
