Caddy escalade...

I think that the Cadillac Escalade has to be among to ugliest looking vehicles being sold today - I don't know what it is about it, but everytime I see one I think of dog-poo (I'm being serious.)
I usually see them with really ugly wheels that'd be absolutely no good off road at all - thank god for stupid people, without them nobody would buy these things.

I usually disagree with you Bloke, and this time is no different. I actually like the looks of it. I am partial to it just because it is GM. But I think it is a decent vehicle. It is not really meant to be taken off road, it is bought for its looks. I hate huge rims, but I think some look good on this vehicle. It obviously sells well and has three different body styles. It is one of the most modified SUVs in the US. I will say I wouldn't buy one if I had the money because, IMHO, I don't think it's worth it. And I also think the popularity of the Escalade is due to all the hip-hop stars buying thsese things. That is oe sure way to get a vehicle popular... I disagree about the looks, but you could make these points about so many different vehicles...

Well, stupid people buy what they see other stupid people buying... stupid people have to copy other people because they're not smart enough to think for themselves, thus they are stupid.
I think they're ugly, the new ones are even worse than the last generation...

Not only are they ugly, but they are useless as well. They are oversized pavement cruisers. You could never take them off road. Also the marketing team for it sucks like every other GM product. I hate GMs marketing. Also, I must say that every single one of Cadillac’s cars are ugly, every last one.

I completely agree with you.

:ylsuper you rock 2stroke!!!!

If there is one car I can't stand it is the fricking Cadillac Escalade- it is the single most ugly vehicle on the road- it looks like a block of flats for gods sake- in other wors- paint it pink and get it muddy (Fat chance of that happening) and it'll look like a pigs ass.

Nothing is dumber than the assholes who buy these things either- I mean if you're gonig to be sen in something- a Nissan Skyline GTR is a better option- who cares if you can't go through drive throughs- most of these rapper chicks have massive asses anyway- they don't need any fast food.

The Range Rover, Grand Cherokke Overland and Cayenne S make this Lump of shit look like the pointless piece of ass that it is

Wow, so much negativity. I personally like them, and I dont consider myself stupid by any means. We have a black one where I work, a 2003 with a lot of extra's from the factory and it's really sharp looking. I'd buy it, does that make me stupid? I think GM has good products, does this make me stupid? Not all of you like the escalade, thats cool, but not everyone is going to like it.

I'm with you. Like I said, you can make this point with so many different vehicles. You can say any vehicle is 'useless'. It's not like they advertise the Escalade to be an off-road vehicle, so why are you surprised that it doesn't go off road. They look great IMO and they are big enough for large cargo, and I would imagine they have a fairly large hauling capacity... I see no one making a good point, you are just calling them ugly...

The Escalade is grotesque. Its beyond vulgar, in fact i'll even go as far as to say it sums up whats wrong with American cars today. It's a POS

I've never understood Americans' love affair with SUVs. I think the SUV craze started the moment some stupid soccer mom felt she was too good to drive a minivan, and that all her other soccer mom friends would be jealous of her new, rugged ride. Too bad the only time an SUV goes off the road in this country is when the soccer mom ends up plowing into a ditch because she's paying more attention to her cell phone conversation than she is to the road.

Do any other countries have this kind of problem with people talking on the phone while driving?

I forgot to add: There may be some signs of hope that the SUV craze is on the wane here in the States. Ford is about to stop selling the Excursion if they haven't already. I hope that's a sign of things to come.

I find the Escalade to be a nice looking truck compared to the Navigator. As a matter of fact, the entire Cadillac line has been greatly improved in the last 5 years. The CTS, Deville, Escalade, and EXT are among their best sellers. That may be because the Seville is outdated and in desperate need of a redesign, and the new ESV is unecessary. I can agree that for the most part big SUVs are just gas guzzling human freight carriers but, that doesn't mean some of them can't be stylish. The Ford Excursion is nothing but a commercial shuttle van with a bull nose, and it's ugly.

I'd drive an Escalade. I think it's all a matter of personal taste, not brain cell count.

i hate caddy, but thats just cus i am a big fan of the entire FoMoCo. I prefer the lincoln much more and lincolns last a bit longer than caddy in most cases. but both guzzle gas.

SUV's are still selling like hot cakes. The only reason Ford stopped selling the Excursion is because no one was buying that monstrosity. I like SUV's and my mom and dad both drive Chevy Tahoes. And contrary to what most people seem to be saying, they use them with a purpose. They both tow our boat, and they fill the seats almost weekly going out with friends etc, and use the cargo area for plants, soil, gardening tools, etc, etc. And I drive a Chevy Silverado, and love it and will continue to drive gas sucking cars, just to piss of the government.

When companies started to add "luxury content" to the basic 4X4 like the old Ford Bronco II and Chevy S-10 Blazer in the mid-80's, the "sacrifice level" in going from a passenger car to a SUV dropped to about zero (think of Mrs. Soccermom in a 1960's Jeepster...hahaha). Especially in the snow belt, the shift wa a foregone conclusion.

Yeah, the "lemming effect" was a big factor as well.

I dislike the entire genre but the market needs to offer something more attractive to lure mainstrean buyers away from them.

The escalade is an ok car if you are old and rich. I think it looks decent but I hate how everyone loves them so much because the rappers drive them. They arent good but if you want one - thats fine. I just hate how people love them so much so they can put chrome on it and pretend that they are a rapper :thefinger

By telling him that if he doesn't have the same opinion as you, that something is wrong with him? And I bet you weren't even being sarcastic.

There was definitely sarcasm in that statement.
