Hi everyone.
After almost 2 years build time i have finaly finished my Model Factory Hiro Ferrai 500 F2.
It tooks me so long cause i have not the reference pictures i needed to complete the modell.
After all i got the chance to meet Mr. Vonlanthen at Bern Switzerland to make a Picture session on his original Ferrari 500 F2.

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3264306465613638.jpg
So after all there was nothing in the way anymore to complete the build.

I have scratch a lot of parts and all the wiring are detailed with other wire.
The complete accelerate system is scratch build, cause Model Factory Hiro did not include this parts into the kit, so i took the time to build it by scratch.

I used all my experiences about wheathering, to make the care looks old and real.

The belts for the fuel tank i have made by paper stripes which i have painted and dry brush with different brown colors to look them like leather.
http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/20/673120/3231333237356536.jpg
For the seat i used also Model Factory Hiro cloth, which was also dry bruhed for different shades.

Hi Roger - I am sooo glad you have posted this at last :D
Really, this is one of my all-time favorite builds :worshippy
As I told you, I just love the way you have handled the weathering on this project. Together with the detailing they make it incredible.
Amazingly real...!
Robi - shame you couldn't make it to FRA and see this in person. It's awesome!
(Roger is quite nice also  ;) )

Beautiful and realistic! Great scratch works.
Roger, excuse me, but I saw some inaccuracies on the front wheel.
Wrong position of a nipple and bent spokes.

Although weathering looks a bit overdone to my taste, its an amazing build nonetheless! Looks so real, what a great job. Excellent pictures as well. Superb!

Really beautiful work. I love the weathering effect. I think you really nailed the grit and grime perfectly. It looks a little much up close, but when viewed from a distance looks spot on. I also really like the base a lot.

Nice effort. I like the way the paint is rubbed through to bare metal in some areas. I guess that is one benefit of the white metal body panels.
I hate to be negative but the steering wheel is upside down. The "bumps" on the rim are for the fingers to grasp around the underside of the wheel.

The wheels are turned, that's why the steering wheel is upside down. :iceslolan

No, Crate is correct. The bumps on the wheel should be facing the front of the car, not the driver.
Still, phenomenal build and magnificent weathering! Museum quality!

Holy 3 year old thread batman...
These are not bumps, these are rivets that hold the two halves of the wooden rim together (on a real car). They just not sanded flush, and look like bumps, at least I think that's what it is.

MFH molded the wheel way too thick to begin with. The F2 has divots in the forward rim, not bumps anyway. Maybe this link will help :
