Primary CAT replacement

Reluctantly facing the probability I have to replace one of the primary cats on the roadster. Has any one done this? The bolt heads to release it from the pipe connected to exhaust header are pointed toward the ground, and then the whole CAT is surrounded by heat shield, dosen't look accesable from underneath. How to get at these bolts?
