Catalyst Thermocouple

Well after chasing a catalyst overtemp condition accompanied by CEL, catalyst light, and running in limp mode I've changed O2 sensors, and the CAT ECU. Changing these parts temporarily fixed the condition, now it's back. Aside from the CAT itself, I believe the only other component is the thermocouple, part number 006033686. Does anybody know if there's a generic for this $500.00 item? Anybody experience symptoms with a faulty one?
