HVAC blend door seems to have a high failure rate on 2005-2006 and the EGR valves fail at a somewhat elevated rate. The GM dealerships are replacing EGR valves & pipes with the 2007+ style.

There was only a TSB (# 06-06-04-008B) on the EGR issue. It requires the new EGR kit (p/n 89018176) and a PCM calibration at a dealership.
The heat blend door is only a well-known issue. It does not have any TSBs or Recalls, but it is mentioned here (http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/chevrolet-equinox/TNMHVCTE76U9HGTH4/p19) and a few times in the Chevy Equinox and Pontiac Torrent forums on here. The part costs under $100, but requires removing the dash to replace it.
