Posting this for a buddy. He just picked up this Beetle after it's been sitting for about 8 months. When you get into it a little, the clutch starts to slip. The car has under 30K miles, cant imagine it needs a clutch. He said it had plenty of fluid in the reservoir. Maybe needs to be bled? He also stated that the friction point in the peddle feels like it is way up near the top. Thanks in advance for any help.

My wife Linda has the same VW as you and we had the clutch changed out and we had the new conversion put in, I suggest to you that You also do it and as well its much cheaper and will stand up better.
Another suggestion to you as we learned the hard way, Your turbo motor is an interferrance motor which means if your timing belt breaks as ours did it wipes out your engine because the valves stop and the pistons come up and distroy everything, Cost us with replacing the motor $9,000
So dont go past 60,000 miles without replacing, good luck
