I have a 94 cherokee sport 4x4 that used to have a speedometer that jumped around now I went out ther other day and I the speedometer and tach are not moving at all and the fuel gauge is maxed out all of my other gauges ( voltage, oil preasure, and temp) still work fine.

I checked all fuses and relays but did not find anything thing wrong any ideas?

sounds like your missing a fuse or it's or a fuseable link is burnt some where?

you may have lost a hot or ground wire to guage's.

Or the guage pack itself may be failing. There's a couple threads I've read where replacing the pack takes care of the issue....plus while it's out you can check all the connections under the dash. Not to mention, it could be the plug connector that connects the wiring harness to the guage pack....IIRC there's a thread where someone found corrosion in the plug itself.

i had the dash out this evening and the connector is fine and all ground points on the back of the dash are working fine. I had already checked all fuse for power and they are good so I guess the next step is to get a replacement dash and try that out.

I have the same Jeep and also had that problem. What I found was a bad ground on the right side of the 4.0 6cyl. hard to see but there in the middle but towards the back

Yeah, I've read about that spot not being grounded; good thing to check.

Had same problem. Like mentioned before, check the ground on the engine block, passenger side, mid block. Might be bundled up with 2 other grounds, 3 in all.
