Hello I have an 03 s-10. I replaced the ingnition switch in it and now when I connect the battery up it turns the odemeter on as well as the security and battery light are always on. The truck will crank but it dies right away. What did I do wrong?!?

Please help!

Thanks Derek

I unhooked the battery before working on my brothers s-10, it was an 01, I was changing the motor mounts, after I got done, hooked the battery back up, he then turned it on, and it was acting crazy, he got it to crank, security light was on and rpms kept jumping up and down up and down. It had me worried for a minute. He then remembered he had a security code that he was supposed to put into the radio, he did that then it everything was back to normal, not sure if this is the same issue you are having or not.

Try a neg battery cabel disconnect for 30 minutes.
Then go threw the relearn.
You will need a a slow battery charger hooked up when doing it or a junper car on it.

Key on for 10 minutes untill security lught goes out.
The key off.
Do that 3 times in a row.

On the next start if it relearned it should start.
If not find a good repair shop or dealer with a body capable scanner to check it out.

Ther is two different system.
Does your horn or headlights do any flashing or honking?
