Using Traction Control ?

My 01 Regal LS is the first car I've owned with traction control. I've always driven it with the t c on but I'm wondering if it really matters for all around driving.

The same ? about winter driving. I've heard of people saying they got stuck with the t c on in snow or ice and had to turn it off to be able to drive out once stuck. I'd like to heard from those of you with some bad weather experience, please.

IMO you are better off with the traction control on for most winter driving especially when icy or in snow. I leave mine on all year around in all my "GM" W body cars like the Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix. Also, the traction control will work in conjunction with the ABS braking system. On the enhanced version found on the Regal GS/GE and GTP it will not only reduce engine power but modulate the ABS brakes.

The only situation in my experiences when I turn it off is drag racing since it will affect the 1/4 ET but for a daily driver really not an issue. If getting stuck in the winter and mud is an issue then nothing beats a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
