03 Automatic, Hard shift into 2nd gear???

03, 4 Cyl, 65K miles, Automatic. I Just bought it and I noticed that when it has been sitting for a long time it shifts really hard into 2nd gear.
Thinking about getting a power flush and fluid replacement with synthetic. Any thoughts?
