Just got this 2003 Safari and would like to change the air filter so first I unclipped the front of the casing, but can't figure out how to go from there to open it
Thanks.
Thanks.

There are plastic tabs on the upper half of the housing at the rear, lift up on the front, pivot it up and pull forward to remove it. If you loosen the clamp on the air inlet hose, then disconnect the hose from the filter housing, it makes it a little easier.

Thanks for the reply. We will try that when it warms up a bit. It is pretty cold here this morning.

Well that's done, hope I don't have to do that again in a hurry. Appreciate the advice, it just felt like something was going to break.

Yup, I know whatcha mean! The rubber around the filter gets compressed by the housing. That's what makes the seal between the filter and the housing, and why it's such a tight fit.

Don't forget todo the PCV valve, and the fuel filter.
I know a dude chasing a random misfire, and spent $3.5K because of a bad fuel filter.
