My 96 Ranger is 5speed standard tranny with rear wheel drive standard cab with a 2.3l 4cylinder engine. I was on the highway and it seems like the clutch reservoir fluid went dry and as I was getting off the highway, I hit the clutch and it was hard to press down. I tried to force it but as io pressed it, it seems like the cable broke. Well, little did I kknow that the line that goes to the slave cylinder popped out along with the slave cylinder. I am wondering if anyone has had the same problem. I am wondering if the slave cylinder and master cylinder is bad. Can anyone share with me how can I fix this problem? Will i have to pull the tranny down and what kind of tools will I need to fix this. I do havew some experience in fixing my own vehicles. No jopb is too difficult, just need some guidance. Im about to pull the clutcth master cylinder off. I was told by one person that I can just snap the slave cylinder back in place but I'd like to be sure. If anyone can link me up to picks on how to do this job. Im sure i can do this. I appreciate any suggestions and advice. If you anymore info, just let me know. I will be on all day.
