Ok so me n buddy along with a few to help out got his v8 swap done on his '04 silverado. Motor is out of a '02, harness is from an '03, and computer vin is from an '04 5.3 sierra.....
Its getting fuel and motor is spinning. So far the only things that we are seeing issues with is..... No spark and its throwing an p0315 code (Crankshaft position (CKP) system variation values are not stored in the PCM memory)
Any suggestions on where to go from here?
The only swap i've done is mine which is an '02 and someone elses which was an '01, both started on first try after priming system

Check your CKP sensor down by the harmonice balancer. It is on the passenger side of the motor. It is just one two wire plug and one 8mm - 10 mm bolt. I would replace that and then go from there. Is the motor ran off a distributor or infividual coil packs?

coil packs, are you sure that the tone ring on the crank for an 02 is the same as an 04? If it is just alittle off it wont run.

Looked on car-part and 02 to 03 body change the engines dont interchange, the crank is prob slightly different. You need to find a 99-02 computer.

i changed the cam and crank sensor. still nothing motor is spinning and fuel is getting in motor but just no spark.
on coil side (pink wire) i'm getting a constant pwer source when key is forward. nothing else on other two wires
crank sensor side (ligth green) i'm getting a constant power source when key is on. nothing from yellow/black and dark blue wires

i checked on quite a few web searches and supposedly their all the same up to around 07
there was only two different rings

they might say they don't work bc a few of the sensors have different plugs and 03+newer has an elctric TB along with maby have no egr and return style.
i have a motor out of an 05 (i have an 02) the only thing i changed was oil pressure sensor which was a totally different style. o and i put a DBC TB on

I did some looking around and since you swapped a lot of things you may need to do what is called a crank relearn or possibly relearn your computer. You will need a GM Tech 2 for this. Since the computer is newer, it will have to have all the new values programmed and stored in to it. You have individual coil packs and they do not know when or where to fire.
