Transmission Problems

Yesterday in my way home at 45mph transmission went out. Messages appeared in the screen "transmission failure" and "system failure". I stoped the car and turn the engine off.. waited some seconds and started again. Everything works perfect for a few miles and then the problem came back. I did the same as before, transmission was engaged again, but this time the engine service light came on. I was able to get my home with no problem. Does somebody have any idea what the problem could be. Any advice would be apreciated.:runaround:

I'm thinking it's throttle body related. Try getting some throttle body cleaner and spray the throttle body blade/butterfly area. It won't hurt to do it once a year anyway. Sometimes the blade will not seat properly because of carbon build up and improper air mixture sends a bad message to the CPM and erronous check engine/transmission codes develop. If all fails take to dealer for a computer scan. It may also need a transmisson service and updates.

Thank you Franco, I did exactly what you recommended me to do, I sprayed the throttle body cleaning the butterfly area, that was really dirty, and the engine service light went off after two miles of driving the car in normal conditions. After three days and 160 miles everything works perfectly and smooth. Once again... Thanks A lot.
Wonderful
