Here is my latest effort. A Revell 612. For this one I finally got up the nerve to strip some chrome parts. Basically OOB with a couple of seatbelts thrown in. I also tried to throw some alclad finishes through the airbrush, which turned out better than i expected. Paint is Tamiya Metallic Red.

No major issues with it at all, still lots learnt as i went. Due to this I got a great deal of enjoyment out of building this one :grinno: Bring on the next one..........

looks real nice!!

I find the same as you, i'll try to build a detailed car but sometimes it can take to long and i get the sh*ts with it and put it away

Sometimes it's far more fun just to build a quick oob stock build!

well done on your 612, it looks real good all round!!

Looks really nice and cleanly built, not your fault at all but the Revell wheels appear somewhat small in diameter and do not sit flush with the tyre. Seems a shame Revell did not get this right, perhaps some after market ones could be used instead.

Ditto; I also like the color chosen.

As for the wheels/tires, I believe they are properly sized, but if built OOB there are two issues that come up every time to conspire against an otherwise excellent finished model; ride height in front looks too high and the rear track width is too wide, causing the wheels/tires stick too far outside the body. Both are easily rectified during assembly (the two I built have aftermarket wheels/brakes that required a bit of surgery on the front and rear axle stubs).

Glad to hear the assembly went so well; both of mine fought me tooth and nail getting the rear of the chassis seated properly inside the body.

What volor you use for seats?
Thanks for sharing

Thank you all for your comments, this was the 3rd revell I have built in a row and the wheels really are the weak point of their models. A bit disappointing, but at least it gives us another challenge overcome.

Currently building a 250GTO and have gone for aftermarket wheels for the reasons stated. Now if only I could find some decent tires to suit........:banghead:

It was a custom mix that I made up to my taste from Taymia acrylics - some buff, brown, white and a splash of orange :)

Apart for the mentioned wheel fitment issues, you've done a very nice job with all of the other details! Excellent work! :)

Really well built revell, only thing i might comment on is the chrome grill. It seems like it would look ten times better if you stripped it and painted with alclad.

Lovely colour...very vibrant. Good job on a cleanly built car.

Agree with others on the color, great choice, the shines looks beautiful.

however the front grill and the disc brake really spoil your great work, not your fault since you built it OOB, blame Revell
