Mclaren F1 Engineering / Technical Drawings

Are there any images of technical / engineering drawings of the internals of the Mclaren F1. I did a search and wasn't able to find anything.

I guess what I'm looking for are clear images of the overall chassis without the body panels so you can see the inner mechanical elements like the shape and arrangement of the suspension arms etc.

I'm looking for this because I want to play around a bit and see if I could make a 1/5 model of the car.

Hmmm maybe one of the best resource could be this Driving Ambition book. Greg, Eric, Doc are you agree also?!
Lots of history, images, desinging work and drawings. Close ups and most important very much information and very detailed also.
Okey, it's a bit expensive but defenitely worth it, if you want those informations what you have been trying to looking for.

All depends on the detail level you are targeting to be achieved, where to look after. Is it going to be just a curbside model with only all the visible details, or with functioning parts (doors, hatches, etc.) and mechanicals (suspension etc.).

As noted here earlier, Driving Ambition provides very good starting point for the modelling, but it still lacks detailed insights to particular parts, such as the suspension. It goes well into details in telling the development of the suspension, but the pictures are quite poor for a modeller. So for such I would suggest skimming through this forum to collect better pictures on such details, as there are or has been plenty of those detail pictures of different standard F1s around here. Also on the chassis tub without the body panels, there has been better images here on the forum than in the DA. Also some of the videos from the factory when the F1s were still built in the 1990's may provide some useful aspects to the chassis structure.

DA is quite good for the standard F1 and its internals, but if you would like to model a GTR to a very high detail and functionality, DA is a quite poor reference. In that aspect the images that have been on this forum are much better, especially on the cockpit and engine bay details. E.g you can check the scanned articles for those. For a short tail GTR there are couple of good sources for pictures like the Motorsport in Detail volume 9 - CD that has good detail pictures of the 13R LARK #60 as well as the 1:43 super detail kits of Le Mans 1995 GTRs by Renaissance (Super Integral SI03 kits), but getting a hold of such a kit might be costly just for the instructions as they cost around USD 200 or more per kit, even though the kit could also provide some hints for the chassis structure and some other details.

One aspect to starting the project could also be acquiring a good current model (e.g. AutoArt's 1:18) and even brake it apart to see what's good and what could be improved with the help of better pictures and some technical drawings.

Shape arrangement of F&R control arms and F rockers pretty straightforward, can be inferred from public material.
What else do you need?

Now that I've seen some of these various assets, an exploded view of specific mechanicals would be perfect.

I have DA and while it definitely is a good starting point it doesn't really show clearly how things really go together. I'll also take a look at the scans thread.

And just to clarify what I want to do, my project is more of an RC model than a scale model. I want to mimic some of the suspension elements of the real car in 1/5th scale to see how things handle. Plan to machine specific elements as I have time and retrofit these custom parts onto my exisiting 5th scale chassis.

I actually started a 1/5 scale model some years ago but due to work commitments never progressed beyond a 3D CAD Model still a lot of finer detail has to be guestimated at though I did approach Nick Mason for acces to 10R to assist with detailing. Any assistance I can give let me know.
