As the title indicates, I'm looking for some advice on Subarus.
My wife and I are expecting and with her due date set for April, I'm looking into a new vehicle that will replace one of our cars - a cavalier - as the primary vehicle that we will use.
I've already determined that I would like to get a Forester but wanted to get some input on them.
My biggest concern is the mileage on used Foresters. We're not in a position that we can buy a low-mileage or new car, but from what I've seen of the higher mileage ones, they look to be well kept and still hold good value. That said, how big of a part should the mileage play in my decision making? Because I know it varies between manufacturers whether or not high mileage is indicative of trouble waiting to happen. Do the higher mile subarus do just as well as the lower mileage ones? What's the highest you would consider buying a Subaru? What kind of life could I expect to get out of a Subaru that's been well maintained but as 100K+ miles?
That's all I've really got right now, being as many of my options have high miles.
Thanks for any and all assistance .

My automatic 92 Loyale gets 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. It has been like this since I bought it new.
My 2010 Forester automatic is too new to give you accurate numbers but for two months I own it, I am getting average of 30 mpg. Most driving I do is a stop and go highway. But I am a very conservative driver.
