Steering Rack on Ranger

I need to replace the upper control arms, both sides on a 1999 4.0L. My question is......I looked at the steering rack, especially the tie rod ends off the boots......they are both twisted up a bit on the ball joints in different directions, is this normal positioning for the tie rods or do I need to be concerned?

Any comment is welcomed.

I also could use advice on control arm replacement if anyone has any tips. Thanks
