I have a 1997 Honda Integra GSI, and I am wanting to put some engine upgrades on it. I was just curious to find out if someone could help me what would be the most important things to upgrade to gain some extra hp, and some estimated costs along with it. Any help would be great on what i should have to make it basically go faster. Cheers.
I Live in Australia so unfortunately I won't be able to have a turbo for another 2 years, so pretty much any advice other than a Turbo/Supercharger would be greatly appreciated.

ok well im going to give you the basics on how to build power and you can judge what you want to do on your own but the cheapest way i would say is your exhaust and intake.
Anyways the way power is built in engines is basically letting your engine breath. Ok when you push your throttle you allow more air into the cylinders letting more gas burn. (example) ever noticed when a house is on fire and one of the windows bust out the fire feeds on the air around it and rushs a big fire ball out the window to gain more air to burn. Ok same thing applys to your engine. The more air you get in there the better you can burn off all your gas and cause a nice detination in your cylinder. But you dont want any air you want cold air. Cold air is more dense and fire can breathe off it more then hot air. Theres more molecules in cold air to burn. So first your gonna want to get a cold air intake, then your gonna want to get a nice flow threw out the engine so it can get rid of those gases easier. So get a pair of headers and a nice muffler i would say cherrybombs are the cheapest and provide a good amount of airflow i use the glasspack cherrybomb muffler it was only 25 bucks and its pretty much like a straight pipe you can put it towards the end of you exhuast pipe for a loud sound or somewhere in the middle to quite it up a bit. As for your intake i would go cheap and get the plastic spectra stuff from autozone might as well just go buy a KnN because the plastic spectra doesnt disapate heat as well as the alluminum pipes do.
If you want to go farther with your upgrades your gonna have to spend some money. And you better be a ok skilled mechanic. You will need to dive into your engine to get that stock camshaft out and replace it with a bigger one to allow your valves to open p to let more air threw. After that get some nice injectors for better air to fuel mixing. Venom is pretty cheap and they make some pretty good stuff. either way with todays street racers your looking to spend money for power. My advice is not to just slap a turbo on there either you'll blow that engine right up :runaround:
build up the bottom part of your engine with forged pistons and stronger parts to handle all the power.
well i think i covered the basics so good luck on your upgrades.
i hope my advice was of great help to you and your quest for power =P
all up to you on what you add to your engine good luck.
