96 neon engine swap to srt-4

Just wanting to get some insite from experienced people. I was looking to do an engine swap on my 96 dodge neon. I want to put a bigger engine in (prefferably an srt-4 engine with a stock turbo already in it. Just want to know of any problems and extra parts I may need to include. I had planned on going to the junkyard to pull a motor and throw it in. Any advice is much appreciated.

Wiring harness and ecm for sure. You Will have to wait on someone who has done it about fitting it in as the 2 gen (2000 and up) has more room between the engine and fire wall. Plus the 2.4 is taller and the 2.0 twin cam has a bump in the hood to fit the 1st gen (1995 to 1999)

You wouldn't be able to use a used PCM from the SRT-4 as it has seen sentry. You would need a new PCM that hasn't seen sentry yet. The swap has been done and done successfully multiple times by different people. It's a lot of rewiring and electrical work. Not an easy swap, but very very doable.
