How to take side mirror apart

Anyone know how to take the side mirror apart? I got a car from a guy and he sort of told me what was wrong with it. There are balls that snap in that hold the mirror in position but he said his wife hit something and these snapped. I'm trying to get the mirror off so I can see exactly what is wrong with it so I know what parts I need to get for it. The motor is fine buy without being connected I can't adjust the mirror to the position I want. The car is an 01 Regal GS.

i'v never had any luck in replacing just the mirror glass
i think it just snaps into the motor assembly
but you can buy a new mirror for $30. unpainted

Yea I've seen that price on one. Can I swap the new motor and mirror into my housing for it so I don't have to get the one painted?

the motor will unbolt so no promblem there
whats on top of motor?? something to snap into
or did that break off??
maybe someone else is familar w/ the regal set up
i know on my 97 lesabre when replace mirror(glass)
nothing to snap to..... maybe just glued??

Update

For anyone that needs this information, the mirror just snaps away from the motor assembly. It snaps in the center holding the mirror to the motor and snaps at the bottom middle and on the outer side into the actual adjustments. Also, the motor assembly can be taken out of the shell of the mirror if just replacing the motor. I was able to fix the mirror without having to put any money into it so I was happy about it.
