89 LeSabre stalling

Hi all, as in the title, I have a 89 Buick LeSabre and recently while I'm driving it will stall and the car will stop working. All the electronics stay on but the car itself stops. I honestly know basically nothing about cars, so if anyone could help me out it would great. = )

I would suggest checking for spark when this happens, but based on your statement how do you propose to diagnose/repair this yourself.
