Revell BMW Nazca Concept 1:24

And another one that was started ages ago.

Built pretty much out of box with a couple of wires here and there.
Halfords Grey Plastic Primer base with Tamiya Light Grey Primer top/finish.
Paint is Tamiya Light Gun Metal under TS13 Clear.
Interior is a combination of tamiya acrylics and citadel/gamesworkshop paints.

This is one of those strangely good kits that Revell knocked out a few years back. It's not flawless due to the age but it builds nicely and has very nice details.

Detail in front of car is included even though here, unlike the Bugatti EB110 (found in my sig...), the front doesn't open and is otherwise hidden.

Rear Clamshell fits nicely.... until you fit the chassis under the front, then it seems like it needs maybe 0.5mm more to fit/open/close smoothly.
Probably my fault for building so slowly that any result of test fitting. if it ever took place at all, was duly forgotten about.

This is a strangely long car and a very bland one in terms of surfaces.
It was hard to find a truly flattering angle to take a photo at and I couldn't find a good lens angle to get the shape looking "right".

Very cool model. I've never seen any being builded.

The details looks very good and even the wheels looks perfect, which is mostly rubbish by Revell.

Good job!

Kris.

That is one goog looking NAZCA. I never liked this car much in 1:1. Neither do I like the shape in 1:24. This is definitely not made for sunny days, you'd boil immediately

Nevertheless, you did a great job in assembling and painting this model, thumbs up for that!

Yes, nice clean job! I remember being in love with this concept back in the day, but I'm not sure its aged so well.

Looks really nice. Its so seldom you see one of these being built. I saw one of the originals at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year and they're such an unusual looking car

Great! Looks very good. I love this Guigiaro's work.
I'd made the Revell's NAZCA many years ago too.

Very nice job. Did you have any problems with the Tamiya Light Gun Metal ?

I tried it recently (from the spraycan) but the finish was too grainy, even under a coat of clear.

Very cool, and great work. It's fun to see one of these built up.

As funky/cool/odd as it looks, it does seem strangely hard to find a flattering angle. I think I have to agree, the design hasn't aged well (maybe a bit like Pininfarina's Mythos)- a creature of a future past.

Got one of these in my stash, I guess it's a Bimmerhead thing. I'm looking forward to doing it, but I don't see much here to improve on!
