Dose anybody out there know where I can get a spoon ecu, and IL4 dosn't have it. For a b16} and is paying $900 for a 98 GSR tranny worth it and I don't know how many miles. But lets say it under 40.000miles. Can I use a 99 si tranny on a 95 b16A2 engine?

any b-series tranny will bolt up to your motor. so you can use any type r tranny or si tranny or whatever honda tranny as long as its a b-series one. also you motor is a 95 b16a sir2 not b16a2(thats the 99-00si version). just letting you know and not trying to be an a**hole

As for the ecu spoon computer is the same as ecu? DO you know any where else besides modacar?

i would get the type r tranny, and you might wanna check ebay and see if they have the ecu or the tranny. they have pretty good deals on ebay. i just bought some ctr piston for $169 last night.

The type R tranny is way to much. It cost almost the same as my b16 engine. Dose anybody know how much a 99-00 Si transmission will cost brand new? And is getting a spoon ecu worth the money or is it a jdm thing, which I am really into. Is getting your ecu programmed the same as getting a spoon ecu i mean as far as hp. What are the highs about the spoon ecu? Or should I just get a skunk2 ecu because that's better than stock one right?

the spoon ecu is just to say you got a spoon product on your car(its a good ecu just cost too damn much), if you are tight on cash get the hondata s200($300) and get it tuned by a certified hondata tuner.

So which one is better the hondadata or the skunk2 ecu. How much power do you gain? And I know it's not a lot. Do you have to get upgrades to see hp? The rev limter is point less right? I mean if u don't got some good cams then why bother right? Ignition table whats that ? Fuel...... dose that mean cosuming more for power? what about the air ratio?Bottom line is it worth it? And if it is.....which one would you get? Lets say you have about $700.00

the hondata is better because it is tunable. you can gain a little power and you can gain a lot. it just depends on how it is tuned. all you need is the hondata s200($299) and upgrades are like g-sensors, boost controllers and optional misc stuff. the rev limiter is not pointless, it keeps you from blowing up your motor. the hondata from what i have heard is very good and i am getting one myself. check out www.hondata.com for more info.

So is the hondata better then the spoon ecu? As for the rev limiter I thought it was point less because. If the factory engine is rated a 7100rpm's. Why would u want to rev it higher like 9000rpm's the cams and springs aren't really up to that right? Unless you want to show somebody that your cool because you can rev up to 9500rpm's once ina blue moon?.......right?

Hey 94civic what do you think?about the question?

the reason why the hondata is better then the spoon ecu is because the hondata is tunable to your own car not some other pre-determined specs like the spoon. remember every car is different, you can get two carswith the the same mods and they won't put out the same numbers. it all depends on elevation, temperature, etc... spoon can tune the car in there shop and the ecu could put out good numbers but when you try to use the same specs they used with their ecu you might get a different result. basically get a hondata and have it tuned specifically for your car.
also when you add the hondata i thik it removes the revlimiter and you have to set it with the hondata anyways and it comes as a standard feature(i think) for the hondata s200 so there is no way around it. you would want the car to rev higher if you can make power at that rpm. if your car stops making power at around 6800 and you have the rev limit set to 9000 there is no point in doing this, you'll just end up blowing up you motor. now if you get some cams and upgrade the valvetrain that can withstand a 9000 rpm run and the cams make power all the way to 8.5 or 9k then you could do that.
