Hey, just wondering if anyone knew anything about dropping a d16y7 into a 89 Civic SI?
I blew my d16a6 and I got a y7 for free with a blown head gasket. I'm going to do the water pump, and timing belt while it's out, but hp upgrades on the swap are unimportant at this time(I'll get a better engine to build). Anything you can give me advice on, or help me with will be greatly appreciated. I just need to know what must be done to get the new engine to work properly, nothing more, nothing less. I do prefer advice from people who have experience with swaps and more importantly this one if possible.
Thanks

y7's a 96-00 dx engine right? Probably is fairly similar to the Y8 swap except you dont have to wire the vtec so it might be really easy.
I know someone on here has a 94 dx engine in a 90 hatch

it should just drop right in, use the Si injection(intake manifold) and u should be good to go, i think u have to extend on of the sensor wires that is on the back of the block , thats all
