problem removing old headlight

Everywhere I look for info on how to remove the old headlight says that it's easy, just squeeze the side tabs on the power connector and pull it out. but my power connector doesn't have tabs and no matter how I twist, pull or grab, nothing happens. what am I doing wrong?
