So my engine bay has developed this growth...it seems as if my blower has gotten bigger and changed color. Any ideas how to treat this?

Thanks Mushman! In all honesty, I dont think Id bother with replacing the timing chain since they are dont wear like belts do, however I would pick up the updated one piece chain tensioner instead of the stock 3 piece. Its really easy to change out and only takes about 10 mins and a 22mm wrench (or something like that). Ill be swapping mine out when I put my ported head on this winter :)
As far as vids, I should be able to get a few this week or next weekend! Its getting cold during the nights so traction is a no go until about 75 when I grab 3rd, but during the day 2nd grabs like a champ

Very nice. What kind of numbers are you expecting to put down after the ported heads?
And yes, vids are a must. Always a must...

Im not looking for any crazy HP numbers staying with a blower but the powerband is so nice :) I should throw down about 340whp right now, and after winter when I throw the head on and possibly a BRFPR and drop one more pulley size 365-375whp should be doable. Only a few guys have done it so far. The boost referenced fuel pressure regulator will be needed though since im at 90% Injector duty cylce now on the fall blend of E at 7100rpms with a 11.9 AFR at redline. With the extra flow from the head and reving out to 7500 and not to mention being in the summer blend I think ill max out the injectors and go lean. And I have the biggest injectors made for my car which are 80# (~850cc), but that is calculated from a normal car running 43.5 psi fuel pressure whereas the LSJ runs 58psi, so they are actually flowing about 980cc or so right now. Damn this E85 takes all my injector lol, but the funny thing is that I would barely be able to break 300whp on this blower without it or meth.

BBK intake and an 85mm throttle body. I should see a nice improvement over the stock LS1 intake. Cant wait to get home to get it on. I will be raping LS2 GTOs then.

Nice man! We just put headers on my friends LS1 Camaro, and they really werent has difficult as everyone makes them out to be. I was thinking it was gonna take a really long time to install them since there is so much stuff in the way, but it only took us 5 hours or so and that was with taking randoms breaks here and there.
Oh I has a few vids now too :) Ill get them up tomorrow

In my experience working with cars, everytime people say its a super hard install, its usually not that bad. its the easy installs that have you scratching your head in confusion.
oh and you're such a tease..

Maybe a turbo down the road! I have a lot to mess with on this blower first:) Should be around 370+whp after winter which is enough to take down most 400whp turbo cars...gotta love the powerband of a blower. If I turbo Ill be going for 450whp+ and reving out to 8k+, which will still have a nice powerband!
Oh and I raced a rear mount turbo ls1 auto gto on 5psi the other day :)

Good luck hooking up... there comes a point where you have too much power for the chassis... and it becomes nothing more than a Dyno queen... err I mean, Supra.. errr I mean a show piece.
It's all about balance.

Yeah thats why I havent gone turbo yet. I can still hook up fine in 2nd even on shitty tires as long as it isnt cold out. But i have a few traction mods

Bad. Ass. Setup. Period.
With that said, get RWD or AWD!!! If you are doing all this work you need to get a car with a proper drivetrain! Roll monsters are fun. All around monsters that can snap your neck at any speed are phenomenal! If you are modding a car to piss you might as well make the power accessible at all speeds. :D
P.S. Drive down here and give me a ride!

Come up here and you can have a ride :D lol
I would love to have a non FWD vehicle to make power in, but the problem is there isnt a single RWD car in my price range that appeals to me. I want a C5 Z06 but they are still a little high up there in price and it wouldn't leave me any money to mod it for a while. And the only 2 AWD cars in my price range that I like are the EVO 9 and Saab 9-3 Aero, and the saab is kind of on the really high side of my price range . If I had some extra funds I would most likey pick up a 3/S and throw some nice big turbos on it, but I dont think that would be a good financial decision on my part right now lol. Also if I had an AWD car I wouldnt be happy until it had at least 500whp, since if Im going to upgrade to a new platform...Im going to really upgrade:grinyes:. I also like the sleeper aspect of my car and how no one expects it to be quick, and its something you dont see modded everyday. I loved racing people on the stock blower and telling them I had no more than 300whp and then beating them to their disbelief .
What it comes down to is really one of the reasons I love modifying this platform so much is that there arent a ton of people that have done what Im doing so I have to help pioneer a lot of things for the community. I know for a fact that there are 5 people that have made more power on this blower than me, and about 4 or 5 more that have a similar setup, but of course I just put mine on 3 weeks ago :) I was one of the first 5 to mess with E85 on these cars and its fun having people follow what you do and to keep pushing the limits of each setup. For example I did some research and from what I could find my stock blower trap speed of 109.7mph was the 3rd highest of anyone on stock blower (excluding people running nitrous), and its just fun to get to the point where a few people are so close in power and times that it really boils down to who is the better tuner. Only thing I wish I had here was a dyno...now that would make everything so much better:cool:
So pretty much Ill keep modding this until I get bored with it, then sell it and get a correct wheel drive car:tongue:

Looks good. I want a noise maker under the hood like that... I'm shooting for 400 at the wheels with some bottle feeding, depends on what it looks like I can get on a tune after the bolt ons.
