Kia sportage burning No 4 coil

If there is some oneout there who is expercing my problem and any one has clue please help I have a Kia sportage 2lit auto 1998 The light has been coming on and off I tried everthing later it come when it losses power when climbing hils and the themprature gage keeps flikering or go flat thwe worst now is that ithas started burning No 4 coil can some one help what to do

..ok: 2 coils: one coil if for #2 and #3, the other is for #1 and #4....
So I guess you have a code for misfire on #4.....? Yes these coils are confined in a hot place and problems are common. coil for #4 (and #1) spark plug just sits over #4 plug. www.avigex.ca/kia/kiatop.jpg Change the coil AND the spark plug. Use anti seize compound on plug threads.
Erratic temp needle can have several causes, ranging from instrument panel ground problem to blown head gasket....so if you have other symptoms, make it clear.
