Oil Pressure Sensor

Last night the serpentine belt decided to "end its life", and in the process, took the tensioner pulley and oil pressure sensor along with it. I have it all put back as good as new, but the oil pressure gauge now pegs past 120 PSI when the car starts.
Is there a procedure to "reset" the computer that I need to do? I did disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes, but that didn't help. Did good ole Autozone give me the wrong or possibly a faulty sensor? The replacement was about an inch shorter than the broken one.
The car runs fine, just don't like going for very long without the gauge working properly.

The wires to the sensor may have seperated in the harness look for that first.

I visually inspected the wires. They looked good. I'm fairly positive I have the wrong sensor. The one I installed is described as "Oil Pressure Switch with Light". I ordered one tonight from Rockauto that is described as "Oil Pressure Switch with Gauge". They also listed one as "Oil Pressure Switch with Light".
I'm fairly certain I have the reason identified with the Gauge and Light difference. I will know when I install the Rockauto part. I will let everyone know.

Hey, Scrapper. I took the broken piece (minus the threaded body) in with me. We noticed that the new part was shorter than the original. The plug configuration matched so it was their opinion that this was the right part.

Lite sender is of course different than the gage sender.

Yep! Got the correct oil pressure sensor tonday. Installed it and the gauge reads normally now. Prognosis was dead on! Got my money back from Autozone for selling me the wrong part. It's a good day! :smokin:
