well..i'm currently buying a 90 CRX DX for 800 bucks...so far i paid the guy 500 bucks and he told me that i can take the car, but first he has to fix the flat tire. He then keeps telling me day after day that he'll do it tomorrow...then he doesn't do it. So today i said, "i'll fix it tomorrow myself, just give me the keys." he says "aight, i'll leave them in the car for you later on today." i come back to his house...go in the crx and notice the key is not there. I then call him up and he says "Man, i was looking all over for the keys, and i can't find them. Just give me a day to find them, i know they're either in my lancer or in my house." What should i do? i dont' want to yell n' get mad at the guy since i haven't fully paid him off, and i want this crx!

you can prolly get keys made up at a dealer with the title of the car and the vin number.

but let the dude look for a day, and call like 2 days later and ask again, you dont wanna get the dude mad at you and back outta the deal.

i've been calling him like once a day to check up on the issue about the tires, now i'm gonna have to call him like once a day about the damn keys. the guy is pretty cool, but i hate people that say they'll do something, then never do it. For some reason, i feel like i'm getting screwed over with my money.

If i were you i would definatly have a written letter saying what you've paid, and what the total price is. That way if somthing does go wrong you have some proof of purchase.

Man your just anxious. If you know where he lives and he ripps you off you can leave a nice message or get a refund ;) if you get my drift

you sure that the crx isnt stolen LOL u pay him that much and he says take it. In Australia that would NEVER EVER EVER happen and no one would EVER leave their car unlocked..

good and bad news ...

if the the car was brought to the dealership with some regularity then the key code is likely on file.

or if its like my car and probly hasnt seen a dealer in the 15 years of its life, then its not. which means getting a new set of locks and ignition. good luck with the guy though.

well, it looks like locksmiths can make me a key :D n' the locksmiths are like 3 min walk away from where the guy lives. We live in the same area as well. So if the guy tries to screw me over, i'm gonna get the locksmith over there n' have the guy's mom or dad to tell them to do it :O

can someone make a mock up little contract thing that i can copy and print, and have him sign it? so far i paid 500 bucks...tomorrow it'll be 600 bucks and i owe him 800. If i know that he's not screwing me over, then he'll sign it :D
