Mercedes SL 500 AMG

Today I finished the Tamiya Mercedes 500 SL by AMG.

I painted it Black Magic Pearl from VW. Paint and clearcoat is Zero Paints.

I build it OOB and only added some detail in the interior.

Nice clean job! You got the details just right (like the black chrome around the tonneau cover that Tamiya incorrectly says in the instructions to paint silver ).

Yes, I looked into the instructions and saw I had to paint it silver..... I thought :uhoh: So I looked for reference pictures on Google and none of them had a silver trim. So I kept it black.

Great build of a magnificent car. I like the color. What is the surface the model stands on in the pictures? Makes it look realistic. Great stuff.

I can't remember anymore, but is a bit of foam likely stuff for diorama's. I'll try to find out what brand it is. :)
