2000-2004 eclipse-are good or bad?

I want to buy my first car, but I am searching for info about Mitsubishi Eclipse, specially the model 2000. because is the one that I probably will buy. Some people tell me that this brand of car is not so good, what can you tell me about that? Also, if I buy this car, what do you recommend me to do? for example: to change something in the engine?

NOTE: I WILL BUY USED MITSUBISHI, PROBABLY MORE THAN 80,000 MILES, V6, PROBABLY AUTOMATIC. PLEASE, RECOMMEND ME THE BETTER YOU CAN.
