I'm driving down the interstate in my 97 Contour and everything is just fine. As I exit I65 onto 265 I'm going around a pretty sharp curve for about 15 seconds at 55 mph. About half way through the curve the engine misses and blows a huge puff of white smoke out the tailpipe. It does this a couple times and then stops once I get straightened back out and not whipping it around the curve. After that no smoke at all and the engine runs great again. This happens twice a day everyday at the same spot. Other than that it seems fine.

What in the world could be causing it?

This isn't a trick question; it happens every day.

Thanks!!

I'm no expert, but I have an idea about what happened. You must have pulled so many G's on that corner that the oil in the pan got up into the cylinders. This is what I think happened.
Normally white smoke is water that has been vaporized, but I've heard from other posters that a shot oil going through the combustion chamber will materialize itself as such, also. I hope you got your timng belt fixed up all right . Murphy's law.....

Crazy car actually died on me tonight. Same place, same scenario. Once I straightened back out I was able to shift to neutral and start it back up. Drove fine after that. It's just weird.

Thanks for the reply :)
