Spedometer issues

My speedometer is starting to jump and when i looked at the transfer case i noticed it is not a cable but electronic. Ive always known to lubricate the cable but the new part for this is only like $30. Does anyone know if this will probably fix the issue. Seems to be just like when the speedometer cable gets dry. But i dont have much experience with electronic ones.
