'05 GLI vs '05 A4 vs ???

Im looking to buy a car. I am looking for something fun and fast but I dont know much about cars aside from what is on the manuals so thats why I am on here asking for peoples opinions. I was looking at the 05 GLI and the 05 A4, I'd like to throw in another car or cars in the mix just so I can see what all is out there. Thanks for any help!
