I am having a problem with my cav shifting. I does shift but it is hard to shift, new clutch and master. Is it just the linkage causing the problem? What is the most probable cause? please help. It shifts better when the car is not running, and the shifter does feel real sloppy.
Thanks in advance for the assistance

manual trans i'll assume.was this the reason clutch & slave cyl were replaced??
was pressure plate & bearing also replaced (i would think they were)
you may still have air in system. hows the pedal feel??

yes everything was changed and the pressure in the pedal feels good. I did re bleed the system as I did think that was the problem also

''hard shifting'' was this the reason the clutch was replaced
has the oil been checked in trans
is shifting into reverse worse than forward gears
it could be the syncronizers in trans but would'nt go there just yet

if the shifter feels real sloppy i would look to see if the bushings in the shift cables are bad for the hard shifting if the syncros are just hanging up ive found it helps to add a small of bottle of sperm oil or other posi traction rear end additive to your transmission oil this will usually free up sticky syncros.the additive usually comes in a 4 oz bottle another thought, did the pilot bearing/bushing get changed or at least lubed? this can keep the input gear spun up even though the clutch is released causing a hard shift also
