WOW I LOVE THE FOCUS, THE GRAPHICS ARE GREAT, I WANNA EXPERIMENT WITH SOME OF THE PRINTER PAPER DECAL. BUT THE REST I DO WITH A AIRBRUSH.
THE S2000 HAD ABOUT 40HRS OF BODY WORK PUT IN, IT LOOKED GREAT, THEN MY GIRLFRIEND GOT ALL STRESSY AND SAID IF I DIDNT WANT IT SMASHED THEN IT WAS GONNA HAVE TO BE PAINTED PINK!!! SHE JAD SEEN THE 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS ONE. WELL BEFORE LONG SHE HAD STUCK ON LITTLE DIAMONDS TOO, I PUT SOME CARBON ON TO KEEP IT MORE STREET THO!!
I WANNA DO SOME MOR MENTAL PAITJOBS, STILL TRYING TO GET HOLD OF SOME FLIP PAINT!!
BUT FOR THE MIN I LOVE USING CLEAR REDS AND BLUES TO MAKE DEEP LOOKING PAINT!

Hi Chris WELCOME TO AF!!
Quite close to you, but not very close. I live in Essex.
Really respecting that R34, did you paint those Daytona stripes or are they decals? Also, loving your Lexus. I want one of those (1:1), but they are a bit out of my price range.
Anyway, looking forward to sampling more of your work.

nope, all the colours you see are paint, tamiya clear acrylic over tamia metalics, you can vary the thickness of the mix and layer it up, just remeber that the key to a neat job is time consuming masking.
dont make the mix too thin or it just runs off, use a light pressure but keep applying, make sure u have a wet look finish before u stop spraying, and leave for several hours before removing the tape after scoring with scalpel, as the clear colour is kinda rubbery for a few days!!!! i peeled it off once while removing the masking once:bloated:

cheers for all the praise, a lot of work has gone into my babys.
i found my latest pics of the supra, i have tried to combine the madness of jap style with the smooth calm lines the italians are so good at, just subtle things, functional vent extentions, carbon fibre on the front centre section, all deep and low, i have skyline wheels on there at the moment. they fill the arches nice. i mounted the (spare) oil cooler in the front to make it look like the engine had been uprated so much it needed it. gonna try and do some more sterio installs in the back of the car, have done this on the merc and the 350z.

I'm surprised you haven't built an Altezza kit yet, seeing as you have one close at hand. ;)

Those are some nice models you built. I really like that 2Fast2Furious Skyline. It's really amazing that you were able to complete so many nice models in such a short time period. I've been modeling on and off for about 5 years, and I'm just starting to get good at it. Can't wait to see how much your modeling skills improve a year from now. Keep it up!

well thanks again for the praise, you will all like my latest 2 projects then, firstly there is the astra, its gonna be, well, erm a bit different to how tamia designed it!!!!! about 15hrs have gone into the body so far!! another 15 is expected to go on before painting!
then i am working on a very sick cartoon like skyline (if you havent guessed i like them a lot!!!!) with demonic proportions, HUGE intercooler ground hugging, deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppppppppppppppp airdams and just a lot of smooth style!
i realy wanna get some new wheels tho, but cant be bothered ordering from japan or the states??? anyone know anywhere in the uk, plus i reeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllllllyyyyyyyyyyy want some flip paint but rage will only sell me half a litre for £130, hmmmmmmm anyone wanna split the cost??? lol. tried loads of car body shops but they are all tight gits, might as well be gold!
here is a pic of the (basic) astra as i just whacked loads of filler on it plus the vents from scale auto styles c west kit!!!

Can you put more pics than mercedes, please!!!

05-21-2003, 05:58 PM
here are some pics of the merc, i have sprayed it in a matt dark titanium colour which looks great in person but difficult to do on camera, just took these for you, gonna have a day outside to properly do them, and get a tripod.
The bonnet itsself was a first foray into filler shaping, not a single bit of plasic in the evo shape, it took around 14hrs to perfect the shape, i got obsessed with making the bonnet flawless and smooth.

how many people like this bonnet? i am considering asking someone to mold it and make a copy that could be blended to any bonnet, i think we need more universal parts like in the real modding world, bonnet vents and universal sideskirts would be a start:devil:
