Goodbye Racing...

Alright...So I have made a huge decision...My racing days are effectively over for the forseeable future. No, not because I have had a vision on the wrongness of it or anything like that, but because I am poor. Yesterday evening I sold my 1996 Z28 to a private buyer. Got a decent piece of change out of it. Yesterday I also decided and began to put my 1995 Z28 back to stock to prepare for a possible sale on it as well. Everything on the car has to go. Only things that may stay are the tires, intake, and exhaust possibly. In a sidenote, if anyone is looking to pick up some parts, drop me a line:)
So yes, the demise of the Z28 i imminent. I just don't want to dump anymore money into the car at the moment, and I need to get started paying back those school loans. Thought some of you may be interested to know. Definitely going to miss the cars, but don't really have much of a choice, has to be done.

Yea, that would be great to be able to professionally or semi-professionally show the car but a committment like that requires an incredible amount of time. I think I may be even more pressed for time than I am for money, if that's possible. I'm pretty sure this is the end of the road for this car:( I've already started to part it out. I think this weekend I will start to tear apart the top of the motor and put things back to stock...Once again, if I can find the time that is.

You might get more if you leave it as is and sell it on ebay with the words "STREET RACERS DREAM" you would be surprized how much those three little words could make you:rolleyes:. I have seen it before on ebay its ridiculous.

Self.. you know how I feel about your cars... I love them as if they were my own. To bad I wasnt able to pick up the '96 off of you. As you know with those many long midnight chat sessions picking your brain trying to collaborate the best LT1 setup possible...

Sad to hear the news... But once you're outta college maybe you can finally get that WS6 you've always wanted...

But it looks like I'll have to take the thrown as "Fastest Idiot in a Domestic"

Seeing as I've decided to go the route of forced induction. I've gotta lower the compression to 9:1 so I can safely run the ATI Procharger :D.

Stock setting is for 10psi... Which is good for 45-50% increase.

We (about 4 people I've collaborated with) estimate the motor will be making 620-630hp. Roughly 560hp to the wheels. On Pump Gas...

Hahah, don't know about all that, we'll see I guess. I don't know what I'm going to get to replace the cars, something inexpensive is my only requirement.

Hopefully this will be for the best...

How are smog restrictions in your state?

edit: Oh yea, just because you have to get rid of your 10 second car, it doesn't mean that you can't race and have fun with a 15 second car!

Well we just moved to Maryland from Virginia a few weeks ago. In VA, where my car is still registered, they're not all that bad. Here in MD however, they have some of the most strict emission control laws in the U.S.:( Technically, I could probably register and test my cars in VA still, since that's where I go to school, but I don't know.

Something tells me that you will regret the sale later. More then likely once you pay off your loans, you'll return to racing again. Just race on the track. The street is too dangerous to race on nowadays.
