So, how long before Tamiya makes an HSV-010?

I was just catching up with Super GT for this year and noticed that the NSX was replaced with the HSV-010. I wonder how long it'll take Mr T(amiya) to want to have this produced, given his affinity for the NSX...
Thoughts?

That also depend on how well the HSV-010 performs in the championship :icon16: Tamiya simply wont invest on something that isn't competitive IMO :smokin:

Dream on! Tamiya is losing money in making SuperGT model kit the past years. Well maybe next year you will see it coming out in R/C. :icon16:

According to Super GT website, No.18 is leading the championship, but only by 1pt. If the car wins (or the subject is deemed profitable by Tamiya), the kit will probably be announced in April 2011 for a preview at Shizuoka Hobby show in May 2011, and will be released in June or July 2011.

The CF test version is really cool looking, very advanced design. I'd certainly buy one!

I hope they do it is a very unique and interesting car. I kept seeing pics of it but I didn't know what it was, then I noticed the Honda emblem on the nose and did some research til I knew what it was. It is interesting that the organizers waived the homogolation requirements. If they didn't allot of us would have never heard about or seen it.

I don't think it necessarily needs to be a winning car. Look at the Lexus SC430s. Tamiya hasn't made an updated version yet of the 2009 winner. I'd really love one, though. :grinyes:
IMHO, I think Tamiya will end up making one. You also have to figure that they can also make various teams off the same mold by just adding different decal sheets. Not sure exactly how long it will take for them to make the HSV, but I'd be certain that they'd make one. *cross fingers*

oh i would love to make one, i'll would go for the black test version it's amazing.
i don't really like the current graphics they are using.
i am no expert but i would guess that tamiya will sooner or later release this model. They covered the arta nsx and the new gt500 gt-r, so why not this one?

y'know, with some careful work, that paper model can be a very good starting point for making a 'solid' model from sheet styrene and two part putty.

Tamiya just showcased the Raybrig HSV-010GT at the hobby show:

I've also made the EPSON HSV-010GT advanced version at 218% of the file size and here's how it looks:

I think I am more interested what this might be. The HSV might just become a one-off car just for NA racing research/development now with this hybrid monster in the works:
http://jonsibal.com/blog/2010/10/front-engine-nsx/
I'll gladly take either as a kit though!

I find it a bit funny how there are more and more KERS prototype race cars even despite Formula 1 mutually ditching it this year. Yes, F1 didn't create it, but they sure did generate a good interest in it and help to make it a bit more compact for race duties.
That mule NSX Super GT car definitely has a more prominent front section. I wonder what the rear roof scoop feeds now.

The roof scoop must cool the KERS. Seen how much more cooling the porsche hybrid car needs?
I don't think people want more Ferrari F1 fires because of the KERS system.

Very true. I don't know what's scarier, the Ferrari or the Williams F1 KERS units. Burnt to a crisp or decapitated by a flywheel. :runaround: The Mclaren unit was more reliable anyway.
2011 should be interesting for KERS technology not only for a possible return to F1, but other race disciplines.

The Tamiya HSV is the purple Raybrig, you can find it on the tamiya blog website.
The white hsv is not the Tamiya, its the 1/24th scale Epson Papercraft car printed at 218% of its original size to fit the 1/10 scale chassis. I made this body using 24"x46" heavy stock paper laser printed and double UV coated for extra gloss.
The RC car is coming out in December, the model might not for a bit.

Since when was there a confirmed kit of the HSV in 1/24?
And because you didn't actually answer the guy's question:
the Raybrig HSV in that photo is of the RC car.

Sportscar series too reliable that they want to introduce kers? :p:iceslolan

Flying fireballs back at La Sarthe (not that they want to be reminded at Suzuka, 1994 JGTC...)

Then they should just take Formula 1's rumored lead and switch back to turbocharged engines instead! Damn that will be an interesting season. :naughty:
