95 Riviera, dropped a used engine in it.....

Ok, got the old engine out, in process of putting j/y engine in. Once it's in, should I treat it like a new car and drive like a granny or can i drive it like i stole it again? And how often should I change the oil in the rebuild initially?

Any suggestions welcome!!!!

I would change the oil before starting a used engine , no? Then drive it modearately for maybe a hundred miles it could have some rust in the bores.
