Stats: 92 taurus L,3 liter v6.
History- Got it last year and after a new water pump, refurbished rad and what not was working fine up untill the other month.
PROBLEMS- Last month the car started leaking rad fluid shortly after it had been turned off. Sometimes only a small drip and other times it was a liter or more SO I tried stop leak and the leak stopped. So a week or so after stop leak the top rad hose blew open on me so I replaced with a new hose and filled the half empty rad with water cause I was broke and since then it seems to be ok aside from smelling the left over stop leak and rad fluid burning smell which is not that bad.
Ok what's bothering me is knowing WHERE the original leak was coming from. If you were standing in front of the engine then the leak was coming from the left side underneath the belts somewhere leaking down onto the engine pan or whatever it's called SO im wondering if that's the water pump maybe?
Im hoping it's just the water pump and or seal(don't bloody well know enought to know)and I can just replace along with a new bottom rad hose and reservoir along with a good flush and be done with any cooling problems.
Lastly how do I MYSELF give the cooling system a good flush?
